As part of the AAPI Heritage Month's festivities, SASE hosted this year's Talent Show in Hall of Languages, featuring a wide array of performances, and a wide variety of Asian cuisines. Besides a showcase of talent, it was a night of fun, food, and friends!

After a 6-hour drive from Syracuse to College Park, five of our e-board members got to participate in SASE NERC 2019 and briefly enjoy some sights walking around D.C. There was a lot of food, cultural performances, interactive workshops, and company mixers. We are totally excited for the next round of Nationals and Regionals next year!

To celebrate Chinese New Year this year, we decided to spice things up with a little Chinese paper lantern making competition and a speed dating activity for more interaction between our e-board and general body members, as well as some butter cookies (and some bomb music)! We were delighted to see some new faces and newcomers who got to witness what SASE is all about! 恭喜發財, everyone!

SASE Syracuse warmly welcomes new executive board recruits for the spring 2019 semester: Arvin Lin as COMMUNITY CHAIR (in white), Kevin Fu as SOCIAL & CULTURAL CHAIR (in navy blue bomber jacket), and Sam Zhou as DOCUMENTARIAN (in green). The team drove out to Casa Merlita in Rochester, NY for some Kamayan — a Filipino tradition that involves eating with bare hands over banana leaves. It can also be described as a “boodle fight,” originating from a Philippine military term for mess hall eating.

All smiles as we celebrated SASE's 11th Birthday with some pizza, cake, and fun games. There was some competitive action as we all learned a bit about the history of SASE — not to mention the president got to taste a bit more whipped cream than he had hoped that evening!

On this extremely chilly but beautiful day, members of the Syracuse Chapter took a day trip to Ithaca, New York to meet some of the members of the Cornell Chapter of SASE. The two groups had a chance to mingle over lunch, went apple picking together, enjoyed some refreshing gorges and waterfalls at the Robert H. Treman State Park, and drove around Cornell University's campus for a bit — it was a lot of driving and a lot of freezing, but much more food, apples, pictures and new friends! |

This year, 10 members represented the Syracuse Chapter at the annual SASE National Conference in Illinois. Needless to say, each of them walked away having learned something exciting and having met someone new. It was a lot of networking, workshops opportunities, food, awards, memorable experiences — and more!
